  • HOW DEEP DO I NEED TO PREPARE THE AREA TO ALLOW FOR NEW TURF?

When preparing an area for turf laying, we recommend an approximate depth of 45mm for the turf to sit on. This allows the grass to sit at the correct height alongside driveways, pathways and garden beds and edging.

  • HOW LONG AFTER LAYING TURF CAN I MOW MY NEW LAWN?

You can mow your lawn after 10–21 days of the turf being put down. Mowing can sometimes be done sooner if installation was done in warmer months, or it can be left slightly longer if the lawn is in shade. However, we don't advise leaving it too late as the grass can get too long and may sustain damage.

To test and feel if your lawn is ready, simply lift a corner of the turf matt—if you can't lift it, then the roots have taken hold and you can mow.

  • HOW OFTEN SHOULD I WATER MY NEW LAWN?

On the day of installation, we recommend you give your lawn a heavy water. After that, you will need to water regularly to ensure the turf will take root. For this, we recommend twice a day (morning and night) in hot weather, or once a day in cool weather.

  • HOW QUICKLY DO I NEED TO LAY THE TURF AFTER IT'S DELIVERED?

For the best results, we recommend you install the turf within 12 hours of receiving it. If you cannot lay the turf straight away, dribbling water through the turf periodically will assist in keeping it cool and lush.

Turf should not be left more than 2 days before laying.

  • WHAT IS THE BEST TIME OF YEAR TO LAY TURF?

Turf can be put down at any time of year. Just keep in mind that if installing turf in colder months, it will take a little longer to establish, or if installing in warmer months you will need to give it more water.
